Central Drug Research Institute is established in 1956 by the first prime minister of India Pundit Jawahar Lal Nehru.CDRI is the research center organization in the field of biomedical .The institute have all the infrastructure facilities are available to develop a drug right from concept to market. The very latest techniques and methodologies are employed for developing drugs, diagnostics and vaccines CDRI is one of the few laboratory developed after independence of India. Achievement of CDRI
- Achievement in terms of development of new drugs, diagnostics and cheaper and convenient technologies for manufacturing drugs and intermediates.
- Achievement in terms of publication of more than eight thousand articles and a couple of hundred of books and book chapters by CDRI scientist in the area of biomedical Sciences and drug research.
- Patent filed in India and abroad. ( over five hundred till date)
- Human Resources Developed for Drug Research and Development and for the Drugs and Pharmaceutical Industry.
- Ph D Theses Submitted by the Research Fellows of CDRI - More than one thousand students have been awarded doctoral and post-doctoral degrees on the basis of works carried out in C D R I.
- Short Term Training Courses imparted to the personnel working in Drug
Industry, Academic Institutions and
R & D Organisations. - Indirect support provided to the R&D Institutions, University and academia by providing Analytical and Information services and laboratory animals.
